RENO, Nev. (KOLO) A ribbon-cutting will be held Tuesday in downtown Reno to unveil a new on-site medical clinic that is only for employees of Eldorado resorts.
“I’m excited about an alternative form of health care to empower patients and brings down health care costs," says Dr. Kori Singleton, the center’s primary care provider.
Insured employees who work at least 30 hours per week can get coverage, starting 90 days after they begin work.
The clinic includes three exam rooms, a pharmacy and patient resource center, and patients can see a doctor within 24 hours of scheduling an appointment without any co-pays, and they can get coverage for their family members.
The Eldorado, Circus Circus, and Silver Legacy are in the midst of a $50 million renovation, and this clinic is just the latest step in that effort.
Employees say they excited about the money it will save them, and how convenient it will be.
“This is really going to save me money,” says Evangeline Paquette, an Eldorado employee. “It will give me lower health care costs and lower out-of-pocket costs.”
“My doctor here in town it takes three months to get an appointment,” says Sara Robbins of the Eldorado. “Now, here at the Eldorado Family Medical Center I can call today and have an appointment tomorrow so from a time and urgency perspective it definitely makes a difference in my life.”
The Medical Center is at Circus Circus Reno on the corner of 6th and West Streets, and is a partnership with Activate Healthcare.
